Research and ideas

So I looked at the beginning of the film "Kidulthood" and realised it was quite simple but had a strong introduction of all the characters..

I started off with the logo for our film, making it more suitable for the "grime" look and here is what I came up with:

Our new logo for our film

The beginning of Kidulthood shows some main characters in the typical school playground speaking to friends on their break. This could be a possible starting point for our opening but we have Ashley (our main character) speaking to his "hood" boys in his estate instead. Or we could have them in their school playground before he receives his results to find out whether he's going to the best college in the country or not. This is where CHANGE begins.

Along with the playground scene, we see Trevor (the main character) working hard in an RM class but little do we know he is working a gun. We could have a scene where our main character Ash is doing what he does best - studying, but on his own as no one knows he's a boffin deep down.

We see the girls on their phones and a couple of boys handing out leaflets for an upcoming party. This foreshadows events for the rest of the film.

This helps me to remember that we need to make sure the opening of our film makes the rest of the film clear!
